Vein Procedures

Sclerotherapy is a procedure for the removal of spider veins. Spider veins can be small or large and can be seen in your hands, legs or face. They may also be somewhat painful. Liquid Sclerotherapy works as a solution that is injected into the veins, causing the walls of the veins to collapse. A compression stocking is then worn to make sure that the veins stay collapses. The procedure is essentially painless and does not require any anesthesia. You may experience some bruising after the treatment, however these bruises typically disappear after a few days. The number of appointments vary based on the number and the size of the veins. There is little to no downtime for sclerotherapy. We recommend that you do a lot of walking after the treatment, as it keeps the blood flow normal through other healthy veins.
